Cindee Wolf, representing the developers, said the project would rejuvenate the Kerr Avenue corridor, which has been neglected for years by businesses and customers. She added that the 144-unit complex would be geared toward students and attract more young people to the area. But city staff remained concerned about the height of the three-story back building and its lack of compatibility with the neighborhood.
The developer hopes to attract affluent buyers from the GTA and elsewhere. They will probably be child-free, either because they haven’t had children yet or because their kids are grown and ready to live on their own. They will appreciate the proximity to downtown Toronto and its many amenities, including the lakeshore.
