77 Clarendon Ave is an upcoming condo development located at the corner of Clarendon Avenue and Russell Hill Road. It is being built by Menkes and Pinedale Properties, and will feature 16 exclusive residential units.
Richard Wengle, the architect behind 77 Clarendon, says that they wanted to create a building that reflected both traditional and contemporary styles. They aimed to achieve this by using limestone, which is durable and ages like fine wine.
He also wanted to evoke pre-war New York architecture, with its high ceilings and arched doorways. But Wengle adds that he was also interested in the modernity of the building, which he achieved by using oversized glass windows and a grand two-storey lobby.
In the end, he says they decided to make 77 Clarendon a building that melded well with the neighbourhood. Its lime stone exterior, large windows and bronze colour accentuate its proportionality to street scale.
The developer is promising a number of amenities, including a 24-hour concierge, porter and health club. These features are expected to help residents lead a healthy lifestyle and make their lives easier.
