This upcoming new condo development is located on Dundas Street East between Jarvis and Parliament in the Cabbagetown neighbourhood. Designed by BDP Quadrangle for Plaza Partners, this 10-storey tower will feature 92 condo units.
Originally named after John Lambton, Earl of Durham, this roadway was the main route between Toronto and Hamilton. It avoided obstacles that would have required expensive bridge construction in the 18th century, such as Grenadier Pond in what is now High Park and the Humber River valley. It was also called the Governor's Road, as it was improved by Lieutenant-Governor John Graves Simcoe in his role as the commander of the Queen's Rangers.
Today, this major artery passes beneath Yonge-Dundas Square and fronts many of the city's downtown buildings, including the Eaton Centre and City Hall. It then heads west to Nathan Phillips Square and Toronto Metropolitan University, crossing the lower reaches of the Don River along the way.
The area around 401 Dundas St E is highly sought-after and offers convenient access to local shops, restaurants and cafes. The Moss Park, Allan Gardens and Winchester Square parks are within walking distance as well. It's also a short walk to public transit with the TTC BusStop (CARLAW AVE AT DUNDAS ST EAST) and (Bus) route 72 Pape close by.
