1821 Weston Rd is a new pre-construction condo project by BSaR Group of Companies located in Toronto (Weston/Lawrence). This development will feature a total of 446 residential units.
Weston has a long and rich history that began in the 16th century. It was one of the first areas of settlement in the city, and is known by many names. It was a major transportation link between Boston and New Hampshire and into Canada during the 18th and 19th centuries. Stage coaches travelled along this road, as did farmers driving livestock to market.
The area grew to be a center of population in Weston and became the focal point for several industries including a blacksmith shop, wheelwright, carriage making shop, cider and vinegar manufactory, and a general store. Water power from Stony Brook was used to run some of the small industries that sprang up in this area.
The area was also home to a large organ factory, which operated until 1936. Besides these major industries, many families made their homes along North Avenue. In fact, the area was second only to Boston Post Road in terms of population growth. These families included the Fiske, Garfield and Hastings families.
